My first attempt at Rookie Bangers, and a strange choice of car, I personally have not seen another one of these get raced, so is it a first?. If you know otherwise please let me know. I paid far too much for this car (£40) but it was the first car I bought with the intention of racing it. The first race, retired as I forgot the choke was out and it gave up (Doh!). In the second race I got a little carried away and got black crossed, a bit later popped the radiator and thought it was time to give up. Onto the final, couldn't fix the radiator and came out without any water with the intention to wreck!. A pile up occurred after a follow in, so flat out down the straight and into the back of another car it was the unfortunate Simon Browne (450) who took most of the force (see below) resulting in track blockage and a red flag. The 205 fired up and I was allowed to go for the re-start, all was going quite well until with 3 laps to go the engine blew up …….
